ESG pressure is mounting, requiring a swift response

Wanaka Partners is an investment and property-driven organisation that is increasingly embedding ESG into its strategic and operational activities. During a phase of growth and professionalisation, Wanaka Partners faced a sharp rise in ESG-related questions and expectations. Stakeholders such as investors, partners and clients were asking increasingly specific questions about the ESG approach, sustainability data and ongoing initiatives. To act swiftly, Encon placed an experienced ESG professional as an interim manager within Wanaka Partners. This colleague was integrated into the team for a defined period and actively took ownership of various ESG-related assignments. The focus included setting up and structuring ESG data management, ensuring that relevant sustainability data became consistent, reliable and usable for internal management and external communication. In addition, the interim ESG manager supported ongoing projects and acted as the central point of contact for ESG queries from stakeholders. Through this approach, Wanaka Partners combined strategic insight with operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder enquiries could be answered more quickly and consistently, supported by better-structured ESG data and clear processes. Ongoing projects received the necessary ESG support, thereby avoiding uncertainties and delays. In addition, the established ESG data management system provided greater control and transparency within the organisation. Wanaka Partners now has a stronger foundation for further embedding ESG into its operations and is better prepared for future reporting and sustainability requirements.
