Our insights

♻️ What if the heat you currently waste could help reduce your natural gas consumption? At Swaegers & co, a company active in meat processing, a major opportunity for energy optimisation lies in combining cooling and heating. While the cooling system releases heat, the company continuously requires hot water for cleaning, sterilisation and sanitary purposes. Encon brought both systems together in one integrated energy analysis. By combining a VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship Green Transition Scan with a mandatory energy audit, our experts identified opportunities to recover and reuse waste heat.📉 The result? A concrete, phased investment plan - Waste heat recovery from oil cooling, with a calculated payback period of just one year. - Further opportunities for heat recovery and electrification through a heat pump. - A clear roadmap to gradually reduce dependence on natural gas. This case demonstrates how an integrated approach to energy efficiency, technical feasibility and financial return can uncover new opportunities, even in recently upgraded installations.👉 Discover the full case: https://lnkd.in/dn3X8bBA #Encon #WasteHeatRecovery #EnergyEfficiency #EnergyTransition #ProfitableSustainability

👋 Job in the spotlight: meet Michiel Voglar From relighting and solar projects to standing on top of a wind turbine: Michiel’s job as a Project manager is anything but repetitive. His role? Making sure projects move from plans on paper to successful implementation. That means engineering, tendering, construction follow-up and acceptance, but above all: bringing clients, contractors, colleagues and other stakeholders together and keeping everyone aligned on scope, timing and budget. And because projects don’t always go exactly according to plan, problem-solving is a big part of the job. 💬 “You never know what problems might occur during the execution phase. It’s always about adapting to the situation and finding the best way forward.” What makes it worthwhile? Seeing the result in real life. And when that result happens to be a wind turbine you later get to climb, that’s a pretty good bonus. 😉 Next up: seeing a wind turbine project rise after a long period of preparation.

🏗️ Can ESG requirements help accelerate real estate commercialisation? For Willy Naessens BELGIË / BELGIQUE, the challenge was to translate ambitious sustainability requirements into a practical and cost-conscious approach, while keeping the project attractive to the market. Encon helped integrate BREEAM Official Excellent as a clear framework throughout the design and construction process. Sustainability criteria were embedded from the start in decisions around materials, building systems, comfort and energy performance. The result? A future-proof building that meets high ESG expectations and strengthens its appeal to potential tenants. 👉 A strong example of how sustainability can go beyond compliance and become a lever for faster commercialisation and long-term real estate value. 750 projecten. Zes jaar samenwerking.
