Ans' takeaways
Sustainability has always fascinated me. As an industrial engineer specialising in Technology in Business, I wanted to start my career in that field. As I was interested in various aspects of sustainability, my internship mentor recommended Encon. I started there in the CO₂ department and went on to become an expert in Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs).

Although I find carbon strategy a fascinating field, I also realised that I like to view sustainability in a broad, holistic way. I am particularly fascinated by how sustainability can be integrated into business operations. When Encon began carrying out GAP analyses and CSRD roadmaps for clients, I immediately committed myself to putting my weight behind this work.
I have recently also started advising clients as a programme manager. I manage several interconnected projects and work not only as a consultant but also bring colleagues together internally to develop integrated solutions. My background in CO₂ helps me in this, as this field is closely linked to renewable energy and making property more sustainable.

I haven’t mapped out a fixed career path; I let my curiosity and whatever energises me guide me. That’s how I discovered my passion for facilitating workshops, for example. This led me to reflect on myself, something I’m fortunate to be able to discuss openly with my team manager and department head.

Together, we explored which direction might be of interest to me. They proactively asked me about my ambitions and supported me without simply throwing me in at the deep end.
